What’s the point of a better graphics card for a game console if they can’t create better graphics?
An arcade console I looked up has an Nvidia Geforce 6800 as its graphics card. The graphics look great, and I don’t see how game developers could make the graphics better. What would be the advantage for a GAME CONSOLE if it had a newer graphics card like the 9800?
Just because you can’t imagine better graphics doesn’t mean its not possible. 10 years ago people thought graphics were almost at the peak of realism, but here we are today, light years ahead of 1999’s graphics, yet still not quite photorealistic.
So yeah, the graphics themselves can still be improved, special effects are another area that can definitely be improved as well. A more powerful graphics card will make it easier to do both, at the same time, and at a higher frames per second (making the game run smoother).
